That's what community-funded means. You're not buying a policy for yourself — you're joining a village. Your three dollars might help a woman you'll never meet get out of danger tonight, in a country you've never been to. And if the day ever comes when you're the one who's stranded, unsafe, or far from home — that same village has your back.

Our promise on the money
We won't charge a cent until the fund is real
The app stays free until we've found and vetted an established organisation that specialises in getting crisis grants to women safely. We're not collecting subscriptions and then figuring it out — the partner comes first, then the fund opens.
Until then, everything is free — and when we do begin, every dollar will be tracked, and the fund's impact published openly, always with a woman's safety and privacy first.
Where your $3 will go
Our plan is simple and open: of the $3/month subscription, $1 goes straight to the Shield Fund and $2 keeps the app running and funds new safety features.
These numbers are our starting plan — if they ever change as we grow, we'll say so publicly before anything changes.
How it will work
When the fund steps in
The fund is for genuine crisis while travelling — not travel hiccups or budget gaps. It will activate when a woman is truly unsafe or stranded away from home, to cover things like:
What the fund will cover
- A few nights of safe, vetted accommodation
- A flight or transport home — arranged by our partner, to your home country only, never cash
- Breathing room for a woman who's stranded or abandoned
Who it's for
This isn't insurance and it isn't automatic. The fund is for women in crisis while travelling abroad — you must be outside your home country. You may qualify if you're:
- Stranded or abandoned overseas with no safe way home
- Fleeing a violent or unsafe situation while travelling
- Left without money, documents, or shelter far from home
Serious cases go to specialists
Some situations are too dangerous to DIY. These will route straight to trained, licensed partners:
- Fleeing a violent partner → local DV organisation
- Legal defense abroad → licensed partner
- Medical evacuation → assistance company
Every request will be reviewed by our partner organisation, and you'll need to show proof that you were genuinely travelling — such as flight itineraries, hotel bookings, or similar travel records. Grants are arranged directly by our partner and cover travel to your home country only — never cash, and never a destination of your choosing — so help reaches the women who truly need it.
Transparency, with safety first
Radical honesty about the money. Fierce protection of the women.
We'll always be open about the money: how much the fund holds, how much comes in, and how many women it has helped. But we will never put a woman's safety at risk for the sake of a number. We publish the fund's impact, never a survivor's identity.
Individual stories are only ever shared with her explicit permission — and for the most sensitive situations, such as escaping violence or assault, we share nothing that could identify or endanger her, full stop.
We'll never frame this as insurance or a guarantee — only as what we can keep. Kept promises are how this becomes real.
